MUSICAL CHAMPIONS & STYLE WARRIORS: BLACK UHURU

For those of you who may not be familiar, BLACK UHURU was a reggae band formed in 1972 by Garth Dennis, Don Carlos, & Duckie SImpson. The group went through a couple incarnations before finally becoming the 1977 line-up (my favorite), which consisted of Michael Rose, Puma Jones, & og member Duckie, backed by the legendary musical talents of Sly & Robbie. Not only did this team churn out MAGNIFICENT tunes, they looked good doing it. Junior Reed would later replace Michael, but by the BRUTAL album cover, you can tell he was stylin on nigg@s too!
